The long awaited, highly anticipated fight between Matt Hughes and the legendary Royce Gracie just ended. I am disapointed with the outcome because I have a lot of respect for Royce, and I was hoping he would whoop Matt's ass. Although I recognize Hughes as being a really tough fighter, I think he is an arrogant jack-ass and I cant wait till someone beats him down. Gracie showed a lot of heart though when it looked really grim as Hughes had a grusome arm-bar locked in tight. You could see by the expression, or lack of expression, on Gracie's face that he would have let his arm break before he would tap out. Gracie is still a legend and no doubt there is no love lost from Gracie fans out there.
I can't wait for UFC 61 coming up! Sylvia vs Arlovski #3!! Ortiz vs Shamrock #2!! Great line-up. I love Arlovski, hope he gets the heavy weight title back!

Neil, what exactly is your problem with Americans? Hughes and Sylvia are simply the best fighters by far and won, as they should. Gracie is nothing more than an arrogant ass-wipe in love with himself. Arlovski is only a preening peacock of a fool. Wake up to the blaringly obvious fact that America simply has the best fighters.

Hey Bill,
Thanks for the comment. Actually I have no beef with american MMA fighters. Im not even a big fan of Gracie, I just dont like Matt Hughes. He is tough, no doubt, but he thinks he is the toughest dude in the world or something, he is not as tough as he thinks he is. He actually lost his first title fight against Carlos Newton, and G.S.P. was whooping his ass before getting caught in a arm bar. He has weaknesses. I am looking forward to someone smacking some sense into him. I like Sylvia, but I like Arlovski better, has nothing to do with the country they come from. America has the top fighters in the UFC right now, but I dont think thats enough to claim that Americans are generally the best fighters period. I think you are being a little over-patriotic and biased. A claim like that should include a bit of logic and research.

Bill I have to agree with Neil, I am canadian granted. However you have to admit that the UFC is based in the U.S. so logically most of the fighters that are given a chance are going to be from the states. You boys can through that’s for sure. Overall the best fighters such as Hughes, Sylvia, Arvloski, Ali, Tyson and so on are freaks of nature and can emerge anywhere. for all we know there’s a Tibetan monk that could destroy anyone, he’s just not in the right part of the world. Who would have thought that asia would produce a man such as Yao Ming when the average height of an asian man is 5′7 or something.
